Thomas Markle may not be on speaking terms with his daughter, Meghan Markle, but that does not mean he has not been pulling out the stops to repair the relationship.
Thomas Markle Sent Meghan Markle A Bouquet Of Flowers For Her 40th Birthday
Meghan had just celebrated her 40th birthday, during which Thomas had reportedly sent her a bouquet of flowers. According to TMZ, Thomas told them that he delivered the flowers with a card saying: “Wishing you a happy birthday and brighter days.” His choice of flowers included roses, with two yellow flowers, one for each of her two kids: Archie and Lilibet.
Thomas’ intentions should be applauded, but beneath the surface, we have to question his motives. It was recently revealed that Thomas was seeking to take legal action in order to see his grandchildren after having been disowned by Meghan. By putting out an olive branch, Thomas is hoping that Meghan will have a change of heart.
His following comments confirmed as much: “It seems the kids don’t have enough family.” While Thomas does intend on seeing his grandkids, any legal action does not look like it will turn out well. This is the view of well-renowned lawyer, Mark Gross. He has stressed that for Thomas to be given any rights, it has to be in the best interests of the grandchildren.
But with Meghan having been left feeling so distressed by the trauma that Thomas had caused her, it will almost be impossible to convince the court that giving Thomas access rights will be for the benefit of the kids. In a previous statement, Mark said: “With no relationship established between Mr Markle and his grandchildren, there is no path that any court would give him for visitation.”
Meghan has yet to respond to the flowers or even acknowledge that they have been received. This is understandable, as she will be seeking to avoid any further media intrusion into her life, especially since she accused her father of speaking to the press behind her back in the run-up to her wedding with Prince Harry.
