Seeing as Conor McGregor won’t be gracing any press conferences with his presence anytime soon, he’s taking to Twitter to air his grievances with the world around him.
The most recent target of Conor’s ire is UFC commentator and former two-division champion Daniel Cormier. It seems that it all stems from Cormier’s friendship with Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Conor’s “COVID good, father evil” Tweet. Conor posted to Twitter:
Conor McGregor Labels “Fat Mess” Daniel Cormier a “Disgrace”
“Daniel Cormier is a fat mess. Getting into worse condition by the day. God bless him. Showing up drunk at media events the very day before he was in the booth calling my fight. Drunk at a media event working? The day before being a commentator on the biggest fight in history?”
This was in response to Daniel Cormier’s response to McGregor’s original tirade. “It’s much easier for me, because I work at ESPN. We have a department that does that, that can get every one of the kicks that Conor did get checked.
So McGregor, listen to me bud. Stop worrying about me. Don’t worry about Daniel Cormier. Don’t worry about the things that I’m saying.
Don’t worry about how I’m dressing and how I’m looking. Don’t do that. Worry about the dudes that keep beating your ass every time you go into the Octagon.
I’m not the guy you’ve got to worry about fighting. I’m done. I’m retired. I’m living my best life. You need to worry about trying to beat the guys that you fight against. Get off the internet. I don’t hate this dude, but McGregor, fall back.”
Sound advice for anyone else, but Conor took that personally, posting the above Tweet as well as accusations that Cormier is a drunk mess. Considering Conor made over $100 million from his whiskey business, Proper 12, he might want to reconsider blasting people for consuming alcohol.
“It is a sackable offense for a commentator to be drunk at press work the day before commentating the big fight. Dreadful! Get it together. Belching in the mic at a press event and an all wtf. The day before commenting the big fight? Is this guy serious? Disgraceful.”
McGregor finished by congratulating fellow inactive fighter Jon Jones on defeating DC several years ago.
“Daniel Cormier your back situations just mental too. Your weight and way of life is abysmal. And now drunk at work the day before you commentate a McGregor event? Pitiful. Congrats Jon on his head kick KO anniversary over you. Good always defeats evil? Wasn’t sure you were evil. Fakes.”
With McGregor likely to be out of action for the better part of a year as his leg heals, we’ll probably see more his tweet-and-delete antics in future. Do you think McGregor should step away from his phone and concentrate on the fighters to whom he’s losing, as Cormier said? Let us know in the comments.
