Paul White was one of the most surprising additions to the AEW roster. Mostly due to seeing him on WWE not long before his debut. Where he was kind of feuding with Randy Orton, Paul White was a staple of WWE for a long time under the name Big Show. In an interview, Paul White has compared WWE to AEW.
What Paul White had to say:
“I think both products are amazing. I just think they’re different products. I think WWE is always going to be that entertainment, sports spectacle. That global brand that they worked so hard to be. AEW is more of an authentic wrestling product, you know? There are not 15-20 writers backstage in AEW. If you have a promo, you have a promo, and if you have a match, you have a match,” Paul explained.
“There’s not as much upper-level handling on what they want during the match and what they’re trying to present for the extra property they own. Even for me, I’m doing Paul Wight, but I’ve never had as much freedom as I do now in AEW doing this. Before, when I was in WWE as Big Show, it was a committee to get anything done.”
Paul White latest match
This is another example of how much freedom AEW Roster has compared to WWE. Paul White said this is the most freedom he has ever had is surprising with him being part of WWE for so long. Paul White has had recently had a match against QT Marshall that went 3 minutes. Also, the Gun Club attacked him a week before the match. We will mostly see some more matches down the line.
