Shane Taylor Promotions are undisputed as the top trios team in ROH. They’ve beaten all comers, including an odd test of Incoherence & Ultramantis Black. However tonight, they have to face another well tested unit of La Faccion Ingornable. Dragon Lee is now a double champion, holding both the ROH World TV & one half of the Tag Team Championships, and with RUSH down – he looks to ensure his group stays on top by having a rare triple champion in their ranks. They only took this match with Lucha Rules, ensuring the action flows as people leave the ring.
O’Shay Edwards Steps Up
RUSH was replaced by Bestia Del Ring in this match, possibly being the X-Factor in this one. Before the bell, Kenny King beat down Shane Taylor with a steel chair. Thankfully, O’Shay Edwards was ready to step up and replace Shane Taylor in this fight. This is why you always wear your gear, it could get you the biggest match you’ve had. Belts are still on the line.
Dragon Lee & Kaun would start the match, with Kaun getting a big takedown. Kaun would get into the corner and trade blows with Dragon Lee, winning out with some stomps. He’d rush across the ring, and Dragon Lee hit a dropkick. Moses stepped in and just crushed Dragon Lee. Bestia would enter the ring to match the size of Moses, and show a HUGE experience edge.
All the same, Moses nailed a charge into the corner before falling to a lariat. Edwards would get a tag alongside King, who would dodge the blows of Edwards before being sent to a knee from just one. He’d bait Edwards in, but get caught into a huge spinebuster. Bestia rushed in and hit a spear, before Moses & Kaun rushed down Kenny King. Kaun hit a running knee to the spine, but Dragon Lee made the save.
Shane Taylor Has His Crews Back
King would hit a scoop slam before Bestia & Dragon Lee would work together like only Father & Son could. Moses tagged in and deadlifted Dragon Lee for a powerbomb. Edwards hit a snap powerslam, but LFI made the save. Moses would hit a pop up cutter before falling to powerslam. Bestia was dropped with Wrath of Kaun, before LFI would rush him and take control.
Moses would come in and make the save with a big DDT, but LFI would take him out. Edwards was next, but Bestia sent him out and hit a big dive. Dragon Lee wouldn’t be outdone, and neither would Kenny King. However, when Moses dove off the apron, he parted the Red Sea. Moses would take a superkick and a spinebuster, before King went up for the Blockbuster.
Shane Taylor would come into the fray and hit a chair shot while the referee was away, getting STP the win. An eye for an eye and all that. Not a satisfying ending,
Shane Taylor Promotions proved they don’t need Shane Taylor, and are just an incredible trio no matter what. However, that story was ruined by the wonky finish, and that chair shot could have been done after the match. Match Rating: 2/5 (**)
