When SHO would be chosen to join BULLET CLUB after he defeated YOH at Wrestle Grand Slam, he wasn’t handed a BULLET CLUB shirt. He was handed a shirt for the new branch of the long standing faction, The House of Torture. Led by EVIl and also containing Dick Togo & Yujiro Takahashi, they’d seem to be their own unit within NJPW in tone. They’re still in BULLET CLUB… but will that last?
BULLET CLUB Has Had Some Odd Names Added
Right now, BULLET CLUB is getting bloated once again. In the past few years, EVIL, Dick Togo, KENTA, SHO, and Chris Bey all joined their ranks. While Chris Bey is loyal to Jay White, and fits the original look of the faction – others haven’t. When it was started by Prince Devitt, it was a faction of outsiders in NJPW – though since then a few Japanese names have joined.
Some like KENTA really fit in, but since he joined EVIL has been shunned by fans. The tactics are roughly the same as BULLET CLUB, but the constant interference in the recent match with Shingo Takagi ruined what could have been a good match. House of Torture being it’s own group would be a help to their reputation, and NJPW is a game of warring factions.
G1 Climax Usually Brings Some Big Angle
Usually around the end of the G1 Climax, something big happens. Last year, it was the return of Great-O-Khan helping to create the United Empire with Will Ospreay. EVIL is in the main event spot of the final night of Block action, where he fights his former tag team partner SANADA. This sets him up to run a major angle, though SANADA not being in BULLET CLUB could be an issue.
This would allow House of Torture to grow as their faction for homegrown heel talents, while forgein talents could go to BULLET CLUB and United Empire. Suzuki-Gun have become more about just Dangerous Tekkers, and are more nomadic than most factions, and are hardly NJPW exclusive.
Could we see House Of Torture become their own faction in NJPW? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
