Roman Reigns has now been the WWE Universal Champion for over 400 days. He’s dropped The Fiend, Braun Strowman, Daniel Bryan, Edge, Kevin Owens, Cesaro, John Cena, Edge, Jey Uso, and more. However he’s never faced anything quite like The Demon. Finn Balor on his own has been able to defeat Roman Reigns, and when he dials it up to the next level and puts his warpaint on in an Extreme Rules match? This could be the night where The Tribal Chief gets knocked down a peg.
Enter The Demon’s Domain
The entrance of The Demon is an intimidation method all in itself, but Roman Reigns was far from phased. In fact, The Tribal Chief was not concerned about what was coming down the ramp. Cole touts that The Demon has never been defeated in WWE, but a loss in a steel cage at WWE NXT Takeover: The End against Samoa Joe says otherwise. Still, that’s the only time and it took a super Muscle Buster.
The Demon would stand in the center of his domain, and Reigns looked more confused. He didn’t see a change, just Finn Balor in a bunch of paint. A man he’s beaten. They’d lock up and Balor was shoved off with ease, before Reigns hit some punches. He’d go for a slam and have his eyes raked, jaw stretched and back scratched. Some leg kicks made Reigns stumble, but he’d remain in control and hit a Samoan Drop.
Reigns would grab a Kendo Stick – and berate Cole for saying he should grab a table. Balor had four kendo sticks taped together, something as ridiculous as Big Show’s giant chair. Reigns would be hit a few times before hitting some lariats in the corner. Balor would get Reigns caught in the apron, before Reigns teased a table and hit a diving lariat.
Back in the ring, Reigns used a steel chair for some blows before being tripped and having it stomped into his chest. Balor finally got the fans a table, but took a drive by and smacked his head off the ringpost. They’d brawl into the crowd, where Balor was thrown off the pre-show announce table. A Rock Bottom was set up, but Balor fought out and sent Reigns off through a table.
A Baffling Ending Sees Roman Reigns Win Again
Back to the ring, Balor would try to set up the table in the ring, and hit a Final Cut on Reigns to complete it. He was promptly slammed through the table for a two count. Balor dodged a superman punch and hit the Pele Kick… before taking the punch for a two count. Reigns would remind Ohio he’s the Head of the Table, before running into a kick from Balor.
Sling Blade would land, but Reigns nailed the spear. Balor would kick out and hit a low blow on the way. Reigns was down for Coup de Grace, but The Usos would save Reigns. He’d be slammed into the barricade and hit with a double superkick. We all knew this was coming. Balor would fight The Usos off and hit a powerbomb through the table, before getting speared through the barricade.
The heartbeat of The Demon would blast over the PA System along with his music, and he’d spring back to life. The Demon has resurrected, and he’d go after Reigns with a chair before a shotgun dropkick through the table. Reign was alone, and The Demon went up top. Coup De Grace wouldn’t come as the top rope would break. A spear from Reigns, and it’s over. The crowd was not happy.

Hopefully Reigns loses next time! I despise Paul Heyman.
