It’s time to break down the action that you might not have seen this week in WWE. Where they produce so much content on a weekly basis, it’s nearly impossible to watch everything that WWE puts out – especially if you watch other promotions. However, here is what went down in dark matches, on Main Event, and will happen on 205 Live this Friday!
Keith Lee Is Now Both Limitless AND The Bearcat
The big story coming out of Dark Matches this week was Keith Lee getting a new nickname ahead of Monday Night RAW. He was announced as “Bearcat” Keith Lee, which will likely fall in line with the new persona he has been crafting.
After a rough battle with COVID-19, Keith Lee is having to change up his style – and will likely just become more of a heavyweight bruiser. The nickname is suspected to be a tribute to Bearcat Wright, a legendary African American wrestler from the 1950’s. He was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame’s Legacy Wing in 2017.
Lee was in action ahead of both Smackdown & RAW, winning matches over Shane Throne (who has lost the Slapjack gimmick) and an unnamed local talent. Other dark matches included Riddick Moss defeating Odyssey Jones, Xia Li defeating Aliyah, and Bianca Belair defeating Becky Lynch in a non-title match.
Karrion Kross Falling Down The Card Already?
When it comes to Main Event this week, the most notable aspect is that Karrion Kross has already been relegated to the lowest show in WWE. He defeated Ricochet, who he also took down recently on Monday Night RAW. At Least he’s winning his matches down there. The other match on the episode was Cedric Alexander beating Lince Dorado.
This Friday evening on 205 Live, we will see three matches – and it’s the best 205 Live card in a while. Ember Moon will take on Cora Jade, Xyon Quinn will have Oney Lorcan, and Ikemen Jiro has Malik Blade. Moon, Quinn & Jiro are reported to have won, with reports coming from fans who were in the Capitol Wrestling Center for NXT 2.0. The matches have all been said to be good, as expected with names like Ember Moon & Oney Lorcan on the card.
