WWE Smackdown Results returned as the match got under way, and Roode got the upper hand when Ziggler distracted Boogs.

Roode hit a couple of chops and a Blockbuster off the second rope for a pin attempt. Boogs countered a Glorious DDT into a Samoan Drop.

He then hit a couple belly to belly suplexes and then a bulldog before hitting a pumphandle slam for the win.

After the match, Commander Azeez attacked Nakamura and Boogs while they celebrated, and Cres press slammed Nakamura into the announce table and then threw him into it for good measure.

Crews claimed Nakamura’s made a mockery of the Intercontinental Championship and challenged Nakamura to a rematch.

    Happy Corbin ambushed Kevin Owens

Owens was attacked by Happy Corbin from behind as he headed to the ring and he threw Owens into the barricade and ring side.

Owens fought back, but Corbin hit a chokeslam on the apron before dusting off his hat and heading back up the ring.

Backstage, Heyman was asked about rumors that Lesnar will be at Raw and she said he’s not Lesnar’s advocate anymore.

He accused Kayla Braxton of flirting with him and told her to leave him along. He turned into Big E once again, and congratulated Big E on his win and for making the smartest decision of his life.

Big E said they’ll see when he faces his boy at Survivor Series whether it’s Reigns or Lesnar, or Balor after they overlooked him.

The Usos ambushed Big E and beat him down and threw him into an equipment case.

    Rollins’ thoughts

Seth Rollins took to the ring and said someone should’ve helped Big E, then he talked about his match with Edge last week.

He said what happened to Edge was unfortunate, unsettling, and scary when he heard a crack and equated it to stepping on a cockroach.

He couldn’t do his actions justice so he called up for a video recap.

After the clip played, he said he understands why everyone’s booing but he has a question to ask and he asked “What do you think was going to happen?”

He begged for an answer as it was one of the greatest wins of his career but he couldn’t enjoy it as everyone was calling him a monster and asking why.

He called the WWE out for saying he went too far and then asked the crowd, which said he did.

Rollins pointed out he used a legal move in a legal match like he has his whole career, and Edge was the one that went too far and said the fans are to blame for how it ended.

    — WWE (@WWE) September 18, 2021

He then promised he’s not done with Edge and then asked Edge through the camera if he’s physically and emotionally capable of getting back into the ring.

Rollins said he felt sorry for Edge and he can’t live with himself until he finishes Edge and said when he crawls back into the ring he’ll finish him one way or the other.

Backstage, Braxton asked Becky Lynch if Bianca Belair will get some momentum going into their match, and Lynch said Belair had plenty of momentum going into SummerSlam and Extreme Rules will end the same way.

Carmella and Zelina Vega vs. Toni Storm and Liv Morgan

Storm started it off against Carmella, and Carmella knocked Morgan off the apron, then she ran over to tag in Vega.

Strom hit a big boot but let Carmella distract her for Vega to hit a kick and running knee for a pin attempt.

Morgan came in and went right after Carmella, and kicked her into the turnbuckle and Carmella rolled to the floor complaining about her nose and took the count out.

    Well, this… interesting.

Morgan then mocked her for breaking her nose and said she’s not sorry at all, so she challenged her to a match at Extreme Rules.

Well, nice to see Toni Storm play such an important role. WWE Smackdown Results expected better.

Backstage, we discovered Carmella’s nose was fine and she accepted Morgan’s challenge.
