It has also been revealed that WWE had already speculated that Adam Cole was leaving to go to AEW. It’s possible that due to many people knowing that Adam Cole wasn’t going to sign. This offer and pitch might have been a throwaway pitch, and not much thought went into it. Adam Cole coming to the main roster and not wrestling seems like a worst-case scenario.
