NXT’s Halloween Havoc is currently the best way to watch a Halloween themed PPV. Even though this one will feel a bit different due to it being the first NXT 2.0 PPV, some things don’t seem to be changing, this being the on theme host of the show. In the past, we had Shotzi Blackheart as the host of the Halloween themed PPV, but now we are getting Chucky.
Why is Chucky hosting Halloween Havoc?
Halloween Havoc has always had the theme in NXT, but it has never had a doll as a host before. The reason for this, however, seems to be the marketing of the new Chucky show. Chucky has been one of the many Halloween movie franchises that have been going through a revival of late.
Making this most likely a marketing stunt for both companies, which will most likely bring new fans to both sides of the coin. Chucky, at the end of the day, is a puppet. This asked the question: is it the best idea to have Chucky as the host?
Is this the worst possible choice of horror icon?
Through the world of horror icons, there are currently a lot more popular characters throughout the whole genre. Ghost face and Micheal Myers are growing in popularity at this time. Chucky’s TV show is currently the next to release, but they already failed to revive the series.
It feels like a shot in the dark having Chucky as a host rather than something else. A silent slasher icon could have worked a lot better than the now cringy Chucky.
