For a while, Mustafa Ali & Mansoor seemed to be getting along as a tag team, but everything came crumbling down as Crown Jewel drew close. Allies became rivals, and now we have a grudge match in Saudi Arabia. As pointed out by Mustafa Ali – this is the first singles PPV match in WWE history to feature two Muslim wrestlers, a historic feat in it’s own right.
Mansoor Overcomes Mustafa Ali
An opening lock up would see Mansoor get a tight side headlock, before Ali slipped out and grabbed an armbar. Mansoor would battle for control, and was able to regain his footing with an armdrag. He’d roll Ali through, before hitting a standing moonsault with Ali fleeing the ring afterwards – where he’d tell Michael Cole to shut up. Back in the ring, Ali would get chopped down by Mansoor, getting sent back outside for a wrecking ball dropkick.
Ali would cut Mansoor down off the apron, before dragging him inside for a Camel Clutch. Mansoor was able to power out, only to take a Satellite DDT for a two count. Ali would talk some trash, calling Mansoor a worthless loser who is nothing, but that would only fire him up. Mansoor hulked up, hitting some big right hands, a boot to the face, a spinebuster and some blows in the corner! He’d nail an Axe Bomber, but Ali rolled to the outside.
Ali was able to stop a dive with an enziguri, but couldn’t hit the 450 Splash. Mansoor hit a Belly to Belly Suplex and Moonsault, getting two before Ali applied a Koji Clutch. Ali had Mansoor beat, but wanted to get the 450 Splash. This would cost him, as he missed and took a neckbreaker for the finish.
Tareg Hamed Makes WWE Debut, And Shows One Kick Can Do A Lot
After the match, Mansoor was beaten down by Mustafa Ali – and a masked person would make their way to the ring. No one really knew what was happening, but whoever this was was ready to avenge Mansoor… very slowly.
They had a red belt and gi on, and it was Tareg Hamed – a silver medalist from the Tokyo Olympic games! One kick dropped Ali. It wasn’t just quick, it was sudden – showing how dangerous Hamdi really is.
