WWE produces enough in the way of programming to keep anyone busy for an entire week – even if you only focus on watching the in-ring content. Some things are not for all eyes or simply get lost in the shuffle, and here is where we catalog those results. We have the Smackdown dark matches, Main Event tapings, and 205 Live spoilers right here.
Keith Lee Racks Up More Dark Match Wins
Starting with the dark matches ahead of Smackdown Live this past Friday, there were two matches of note before the show started on FOX. First up, we had a six woman tag team match where Aliyah, Shotzi & Tegan Nox defeated Natalya, Tamina & Xia Li. Considering we only got around 4 minutes of in-ring time from the ladies on the air, at least fans in the arena got some more.
Keith Lee was also in action, defeating a nameless jobber in record time. Lee is set for a bit run in the coming months it seems, and this new Bearcat persona is paying off. Sadly he’s not in King of the Ring this year, as King Bearcat would have had a good ring to it.
Roderick Strong In Action On 205 Live
WWE Main Event was pretty uneventful this week. T-Bar had a singles win over Drew Gulak, notable for Mace not being around. They will be on separate brands very soon, so it was time to cut their ties. The other match on the episode was a quick match between John Morrison & Angel Garza. Atleast Karrion Kross wasn’t stuck on Main Event this week – he didn’t get booked at all!
Finally we come to the spoilers for 205 Live. No longer the home of the cruiserweights, 205 Live now serves as just extra matches for the NXT 2.0 brand – and that’s what we will see Friday evening. Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs will have a tag team squash match, good to help build them up early. Boa defeats Jeet Rama, who is somehow still in NXT despite having just his second televised match ever at 40. The NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong will be in action however, taking on Odyssey Jones in the main event.
