For weeks now, we’ve been seeing video packages for Tony D’Angelo in NXT 2.0. The smooth talking mobster has a family history of shady deals and violence, and every he does is for the family. Tonight, he enters the ring for the first time in WWE – and we will see if he’s all talk or can he back it up in the ring.
Tony D’Angelo Brings Some Skill And Size To The Ring
Malik Blade would make history by facing Tony D’Angelo in his NXT debut. Fans online have blasted this man into meme status, from his goofy promos that felt like they were both from 2005 and 1984. His track suit was trashy, he tried to pay the ref off. He has me sold on the gimmick, but can he wrestle?
When the bell rang however, he’d apply a headlock on Blade and get rolled into a one count before keeping the hold. Blade broke free and took a shoulder tackle – before another headlock was applied before D’Angelo would be letting Blade free. He’d catch a crossbody into a backbreaker – but Blade came back with a dropkick. D’Angelo would hit a low spear for a two count.
He was an All American college wrestler, and showed that with a tight waist lock to control Blade. Blade fights free, and hits a rolling solebutt kick, and goes up top for a crossbody getting a two count. D’Angelo begged off in the corner, a clever ruse before nailing a huge Belly to Belly Suplex. Northern Lights into Spinning Neckbreaker got the win. He’s got skills – and D’Angelo might be something after all.
Indi Hartwell Gets Ready To Fight The Unstoppable Mei Ying
Fresh off her eventful honeymoon with Dexter Lumis, and the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Indi Hartwell will be in action tonight. She better have gotten some pointers from Dexter Lumis, as she takes one the supernatural Mei Ying – who has been absolutely unstoppable in WWE. Hartwell would piss off Ying before the match by barging into the wrong locker room.
Ying was waiting in the corner of the ring as Hartwell entered. Hartwell didn’t know what to make of this, and the crowd made their displeasure known with a “this is stupid” chant. Ying would fling Hartwell around, before getting put in a headlock and easily shoving her off. Hartwell would apply a nerve hold, and Hartwell rolled to the outside.Crowd just wanted this to end, and Hartwell did so with a diving elbow drop.
