It’s that time of the year again and WWE Smackdown Preview is set for another draft, followed by weeks of the company trying to fix the imbalance they caused themselves with more cross brand gimmicks.
But at least we’re going to have some fun matches and moments tonight.
There should be some intrigue with the draft as well as some big names have been rumored to make the switch, and we’ll start seeing some of that tonight.
Big names moving
With several superstars talking about a possible move in the draft, one that caught our attention was Bobby Lashley saying he’s dominated Raw for three years and it may be time to switch to Smackdown.
Others that have been rumored to switch brands are Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns.
It’s unusual for the brand’s top champion to move, so it’s more likely new challengers will come to Reigns, and that would make things interesting for him if McIntyre and/or Lashley move on Day 1.
Extreme Rules fallout
Speaking of Roman Reigns, we expect there to be some mention if the cameraman caught on camera removing or cutting something so the top rope broke when Finn Balor was on it.
Most likely, they’ll say it was one of the Usos or another Bloodline member we haven’t met as part of the faction yet.
Balor won’t be happy about it just like the fans weren’t, and it could lead to a possible rematch tonight Reigns will win.
Edge returns
After Seth Rollins called him out last week and demanded a response, Edge will appear tonight to respond.
This looks like we’ll be heading for a third match between them, but with rumors of Edge’s storyline done for a couple of months this makes things interesting if they’re looking for a Saudi match.
Edge could bow out but promise to come back once again when he’s healthy, and this will give Rollins a chance to feel superior, only to have it crash down around his ears in a few months.
Sasha Banks challenges Becky Lynch
After interfering in Lynch and Bianca Belair’s match at Extreme Rules, we expect her to come out and challenge Lynch and Belair will take offense and we’ll have a number one contender’s match.
Depending on how that works out, we could end up with a triple threat at the next pay-per-view.
What do you think will happen tonight and who will be drafted where on night one? Let WWE Smackdown Preview know in the comments below.
