WWE Smackdown Preview is excited to see the beginning of the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown Tournament as, well, we just love wrestling tournaments.
They’ve been a favorite of ours since WrestleMania 4 and though we prefer them in one night, we’ve learned to make due.
But that’s not all that’s happening tonight as Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Sasha Banks will make their triple threat match at Extreme Rules.
Contract Signing
What could go wrong at a contract signing for the Smackdown Women’s Championship?
Plenty considering we doubt Belair will let Banks’ attack on her last week go unchallenged, and we’re sure Lynch will try to stir up a match between the two of them but she’ll be pulled into it.
If one does happen, it’ll be the main even and Lynch will probably be a participant this time. It may even be a tag match if they decide to throw someone else into the mix for reasons.
Queen’s Crown Tournament Round One – Liv Morgan vs. Carmella
After Carmella’s attack on Morgan last week before the match got started, and then using a facemask to copy Sheamus (like the WWE would copy one gimmick to another, right?), we think Morgan’s going to be livid and ready for her pound of flesh.
What should be a good match will probably be cut down to five minutes or less and have a rushed feel about it before Morgan gets the win and moves on.
We love Morgan and think she can be something special if given the chance, and hopefully this is it.
King of the Ring Tournament Round One – Rey Mysterio vs. Sami Zayn
This should be a good match until Dominik does something to cause Rey to lose.
After Dominik lost to Zayn the last three weeks, Zayn went to him last week and did a great job getting into his head and telling him he’s improving but he needs to listen to his instincts more and less to Rey.
We don’t think Dominik will do anything underhanded, but somehow Rey will be distracted and Zayn will come out the winner, which will show Dominik who he should be listening to.
On the flip side, if Rey wins there’s a chance Dominik could be placed into the tournament to face him, which would go a long way to turning him to the dark side, er, heel side.
This should be one of the more entertaining storylines of the night and WWE Smackdown Preview we’re looking forward to it.
