When it comes to folks who wrote books in the professional industry, Jim Ross is often overlooked. In total, he’s written four books. The first two were WWE themed cookbooks, Can You Take The Heat? The WWF Is Cooking and J.R’s Cookbook. In 2017 he released Slobberknocker, his first autobiography. This was followed up with 2020’s Under the Black Hat: My Life in the WWE and Beyond – and now Ross is focused on the possibility of another book.
Jim Ross Has Offers To Write A Book On His 50 Years In Wrestling
While talking on “Ask JR Anything” on AdFreeShows.com, Jim Ross would mention his plans for another book.
“I’m going to write another book, it looks like. We’ve been offered a deal from a couple of publishers about my 50 years in wrestling. I got in in ‘74, so it’s 2024, a couple of years. If I’m above ground, that’s what’s going to happen. That should be fun. I never stopped loving what I did.”
This would be a great lookback on a legendary career. Not everyone reaches 50 years in the industry, or has seen as many iconic moments as Jim Ross has. He’s been everywhere, and has done everything. Two books can’t fill it all, but a third might cap off the trilogy perfectly.
Battle With Skin Cancer Is Going According To Plan
Right now, Jim Ross is in a battle against skin cancer. He’s just had his second successful radiation treatment, but will be off AEW programming until December 29th. Even that date is not set in stone, but Jim Ross doesn’t want to miss a show in Jacksonville, where AEW rode out the early days of the pandemic.
He gave an update on his skin cancer battle, tweeting out the following. “DAY TWO – “Skin cancer doesn’t stand a chance!” Fans are excited to have him back on the desk for AEW, as it’s getting hard to imagine AEW without his iconic voice welcoming in fans both new and old.
