Orange Cassidy & the rest of Best Friends have been absorbed into a bigger faction, NJPW’s CHAOS group. This isn’t that shocking as Chuck Taylor & Trent? never really left the group, but it now being official again opens up a door all to itself. Tomohiro Ishii is possibly the best brawler of the last decade, and after reclaiming his NEVER Openweight Championship at Battle In The Valley – The Stone Pitbull is backing up Orange Cassidy. They meet Butcher & The Blade, and their odd mix of styles might be a lot for any team to handle.
We’d hear from Eddie Kingston first… until 2point0 and Daniel Garcia crashed things. Garcia lasted longer with Punk than Kingston, and Kingston was in no mood for this. Kingston would all but call out Garcia for a match before making his way to catering. He just wants ONE promo without being interrupted. Garcia vs. Kingston sounds amazing, hopefully that’s announced for Rampage.
Tomohiro Ishii Takes TNT By Storm
Two men you don’t want to interrupt are Butcher & The Blade – and they have a hard test. Ishii wouldn’t get his music to play, but he walked to the ring ready for a battle. He’d take control of the ring and ask someone to fight him, with Blade being the one ready to go. Ishii absorbed the blows and dropped Blade, before allowing OC into the ring.
Blade took the deadly low kicks of OC, before the speed was picked up. Butcher got a blind tag and tried to run down both men – but Ishii didn’t budge. Throughout the break, Butcher & The Blade would tenderize OC, but as we came back we’d see OC use the speed to get a casual tag to Ishii.
Ishii would rock Blade with some heavy forearms, a heavier shoulder tackle, and even heavier chops before the backdrop got a two count. He’d look for the brainbuster on Blade, but he slipped out and tagged Butcher. The big men would trade blows, with Butcher able to make Ishii show some pain – but not nearly enough. One too many chops would land, and Ishii was mad. He’d take him up and down with a superplex, but Blade broke up the pinfall.
OC would be able to hit a crossbody, but was caught and used to send Ishii down. Blade would be taken down with a swinging DDT, and Orange Punch was next. Instead, he’d take Full Death – and Ishii was able to save the match, and pull OC to the corner for a tag.
Back in, Ishii would take the fight to Butcher once again. Hardy & Bunny made distractions, and Blade couldn’t use the Brass Knuckles. OC & Rocky Romero took out everyone but Blade, who took the Vertical Drop Brainbuster for the finish.

It’s time to kick off the next round of the TBS Championship tournament, and also reignite an old rivalry in AEW. Hikaru Shida & Nyla Rose have battled over the AEW World Women’s Championship in some of the best matches the division has ever seen, and tonight only one can move one step closer to being the first TBS Champion.
Action started fast with some strikes, but Rose blocked the running knee and sent Shida in the corner. Shida kicked her way free, and nailed a dropkick from the second rope. Rose would take a buzzsaw kick to the head, but was wise enough to roll to the outside. She’d slip in as Shida followed, and used the high ground to get the advantage.
Rose would use her size to attack the knee of Shida, jamming it into the corner post. On the outside, Shida made the counter, before again failing to get the Rocket Launch knee strike. Instead Shida would be made to take a seat, and Rose tried to crush her through it, but only got the chair. Vickie Guerrero was taken out with a kendo stick shot, and Shida was on fire.
Throughout the break, Rose would regain control, nailing some smart strikes and suplexes. Shida would get the edge on the outside with a crossbody, but Serena Deeb would attack with a sneaky chop block – and Rose took advantage with a big knee strike. Shida would apply a triangle sleeper, but be powerbombed out. Rose missed a diving senton, and Shida got a two count. Katana Kick was blocked into the stretch muffler – and Shida taps!
These two have amazing chemistry together, as shown once again. Might not have been their best match, but was certainly one to remember. Shida has been on fire again recently, and Nyla always impresses. Seeds were planted for a tie breaker with Deeb & Shida, Match Rating: 3.25/5 (*** 1/4)
