Ever since Malakai Black came to AEW, he’s been battling more or less alone. He’s gotten some aid from Andrade, but has no one he can rely on 100%. In a faction-rich promotion like AEW, it is only a matter of time before Black recruits some names to the House of Black. Black himself wants this group to grow, but who could join the ranks?
Malakai Black Wants This Faction To Grow
While speaking with the https://fultoncountypost.com/assets/podcaster/1643/2021_11_09_1643_113970_5224.mp3?fbclid=IwAR1dKXLcV1tJBFOI6NJt0r__eYwXSdaCFDU-2_enHdtKzaHy1lmSmlfKk7I, Malakai Black would be asked about The House of Black. It’s been referenced on AEW commentary, but mainly exists on social media with Black. However, he is looking to have some more people move in – revealed by the following quote.
“Are there plans for it? Absolutely. Can you expect it? I don’t know, that’s not a decision I can completely make. Is it something I want? Absolutely. I think that the idea of House of Black is obvious when you say, ‘a House,’ that means multiple people. A house isn’t a house until people live in it. There is definitely an idea that I have, more so than I have revealed to even Tony, with the House of Black. But like I said, in due time. Everything comes in steps and we don’t want to rush anything, at least I don’t want to rush anything. Everything goes slowly, everything takes its time, everything is methodical. When the time is right, hopefully, you will see some faces appear.”
Potential Members Start With Brody King
While it might take some time for new members to pop up, one has to be Brody King. Alongside Black, they are the current PWG Tag Team Champions – and a massive tattooed heavyweight like King just fits the image of the House of Black perfectly. They’re close friends, and King is a free agent after Ring of Honor released all of their talent.
Other names from Ring of Honor who could fit include Bateman & Vincent, as they are heavy hitters with great skill – who fit a spooky faction. Vincent’s future is unclear, but Bateman is working NJPW as part of Stray Dog Army. Another who fits in is old WWE rival Buddy Matthews, though he might be busy with NJPW after stealing the show recently as he went hold for hold with Kazuchika Okada.
There is no telling who Malakai Black could bring out as faction mates. This storyline is still in its infancy, and could go in a hundred different directions. There’s always a chance it goes full Ministry of Darkness, and he starts kidnapping people to turn them to his side, bringing in names like Joey Janela or Kip Sabian to give them some TV time again.
