Prince Harry has been criticised following comments he made at a conference organised by Wired magazine concerning the use of media propaganda.
Prince Harry Criticised For His Contradictory Comments About Social Media-‘It’s Quite Hard To Keep Up’
Harry, for his part, spoke on how misinformation was so widespread that it was starting to have an impact on the way people would make decisions.
And he went on to warn people over its ramifications by referring to it as a “global humanitarian crisis.” While Harry has become a potential victim of that ever since he left the Royal family, on the grounds that stories have been made up about him and his wife Meghan Markle, others have attacked Harry over his double standards.
Dr Tessa Dunlop, who happens to be a Royal expert, had a lot to say on the matter. She felt that Harry simply needed to take a step back and stop reading these comments about him if they were playing on his mind.
In an interview, she said: “They need to take a step back. They’re clearly spending way too long scrolling.” Editor Richard Eden backed up the comments above.
He felt that there was a huge contradiction coming from Harry for the following reasons. First of all, he left the Royal family on the grounds that he wanted to live a semblance of normality and avoid the media intrusion.
And yet, by speaking out against social media, there is a suggestion that he still cares what people have to say about him. Secondly, at a time when he has no qualms about commenting on the Royal family, he should not be surprised if people respond.
Richard stated: “He was sort of suggesting it was from his monitoring of social media, but they’ve previously said that they are boycotting social media. Sometimes it’s quite hard to keep up.”
Harry has to decide whether he wants to live a private life or live financially well-off but without the Royal family. If he chooses to do the latter, then he cannot complain about the role of social media.
After all, part of the reason why he is so relevant is because of the Royal family and his use of social media. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
