There are plenty of rumors and reports covering the reasons why the WWE released their latest crop of talent, and one of those comes from PWTorch as they reported Keith Lee had “attitude issues.”
Over the last few months, Lee has been reported to be in a legal dispute with the WWE over trademarking his name, to discovering a health condition while suffering from Covid.
He was reimagined into “Bearcat” Keith Lee, in honor of Bearcat Wright, with a new in ring style. But there was apparently some issues backstage that were discussed on PWTorch’s VIP AD-Free Audio Show.
Attitude issues
Wade Keller talked about how Lee was perceived backstage. Special thanks to cagesideseats.com for the transcript.
“Keith Lee, I have chronicled for months and months and months and months and months, was somebody that even people that were rooting for him behind the scenes, became frustrated with him. He just had, in general, attitude issues. Or, as one wrestler told me tonight, “perceived attitude issues,” edging a little bit, others have said outright… attitude problems. He just was frustrated. I’ve heard different things about him in terms of his mood being altered way more than it should in the modern era, about being asked to do a job.”
We weren’t there, but this is sounding very similar about reports of Vince McMahon growing to dislike Bray Wyatt for being outspoken in the flaws in how he was booked for his character and matches.
Vince has shown a loyalty to those that do what he wants them to without question over those that argue with him for a short time, anyway.
Protect your character
One thing we’ve heard wrestlers say over and over again is the importance of protecting one’s character. It comes from the heart and is the wrestler’s creative ability on full display for the world to see.
So if this is true, it sounds more along the lines of Lee being frustrated with his character, how he was booked, or a myriad of other things that didn’t sit well with Vince.
There’s also the possibility that when we look at those recently released it’s pretty clear that they were all Triple H’s people and Vince had no idea how to use them.
Karrion Kross is a perfect example after they so effectively destroyed his monster heel status on Raw and then looked to reimagine him for a third time.
With all of these possibilities out there, what do you think about Keith Lee’s reported attitude issues or is that just an excuse for not seeing eye to eye? Let us know in the comments below.
