Right now, Brock Lesnar is not set to show up on TV anymore for WWE in 2021. His way of being written off the show was by Adam Pearce suspending him for a beatdown which included Roman Reigns, The Usos, camera men, and Pearce himself. However, an indefinite suspension still ends eventually, and that is set to be around the Royal Rumble. We even have hints at his opponent, as seen recently on Smackdown Live.
Drew McIntyre Used The Kimura Lock – A Move Locked To Brock Lesnar
Since coming back to Smackdown Live, the place where his WWE career first began – Drew McIntyre has been holding a series of Open Challenges. This has led to matches with Sami Zayn, Mustafa Ali, and lastly Ricochet. While Zayn & Ricochet fell to his trusty Claymore kick, with Ricochet moonsaulting right into it – Ali suffered a different finisher. He tapped out. Now McIntyre is someone who has generally focused on impact finishers like the Claymore or the Future Shock DDT, but he used a Kimura Lock to defeat Ali.
This is the notable hint, as normally WWE will not allow others to use a top names finisher. Someone like Angel Garza would not be allowed to go out and hit the Superman Punch, with the only exception really being the spear – which has three users in Reigns, Lashley, and Goldberg. Otherwise, finishers are safe guarded – especially something like the Kimura Lock, which Lesnar has used to beat many over the years
Finally Getting The Wrestlemania 36 Main Event WWE Wanted
Given that McIntyre has history with Lesnar, and a rematch was always coming from their empty and hollow Wrestlemania 36 main event, and that McIntyre is running an open challenge gimmick? The pay off will almost certainly come at Royal Rumble. McIntyre vs. Lesnar was built up to main event a huge Wrestlemania, only to be messed up by COVID-19, and WWE will get their big match from them.
Another name who has been calling out Lesnar is Cesaro. Cesaro has been calling him out on Twitter, sharing an image of him staring down Lesnar during the recent mauling of the Smackdown roster with the caption “Hey big guy, sun’s getting real low…”
It’s likely that Lesnar has an eventful first quarter of 2022, possibly with major PPV matches against both McIntyre & Cesaro on route to Roman Reign at Wrestlemania. This helps him look like an absolute killer on the way to the granddaddy of them all.
