The long-running, dubbed franchise Power Rangers will be getting the Marvel Cinematic Universe treatment thanks to Entertainment One and Netflix.
The Power Rangers Cinematic Universe is Coming
Recently Hasbro has put Jonathan Entwistle in charge of Entertainment One’s Power Rangers properties.
The plan is to set up an interconnected universe of shows and films. This would be different from the current approach of generational Rangers shows where a show will run for a season or so before a new class of Rangers comes in.

Then again, it could actually be a mix of both approaches. Entwistle’s PR project will be heading to Netflix, known for shorter seasons which could make this cinematic universe approach work. He also has one in the works with Paramount.
The President of Global Television for Entertainment One, Michael Lombardo said that there will be a “whole-world approach” to Power Rangers and that Netflix is excited about the project.
Entertainment One is looking at developing Netflix content for all things Hasbro. All of the properties have merch such as books, comics, toys, and games already so the eOne-Netflix team-up will be a screen revival as there are live-action and animated adaptations for Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and Transformers either in the works or upcoming.
With Disney+ having so many properties including Marvel and Star Wars while ViacomCBS has Star Trek, Netflix gaining a franchise that can give it a cinematic universe and continuous content such as Power Rangers is a big get in the streaming wars.
