For a while now, Andrade El Idolo was seemingly living the dream. He was finally able to wrestle again after being granted his release from WWE. Then, he’d go home to Charlotte Flair – with social media showing them as a perfect couple. However, social media only tells half the story. This once engaged couple are now officially split up.
Andrade El Idolo & Charlotte Flair Break Off Their Engagement
There has been buzz about this for the last few weeks. Wrestling fans tend to keep a close eye on situations like this, and some of the more observant fans noticed that Andrade had unfollowed Flair on his social media accounts. Next, he was deleting pictures of them as a couple – which added further fuel to the fire.
Now, as per a report from Cassidy Haynes of BodySlam.net, Charlotte Flair & Andrade El Idolo are now done as a couple as of a few weeks ago. They first got together as a couple in February of 2019, and got engaged on January 1st, 2020. With recent rumors of Charlotte Flair being nearly impossible to handle backstage at WWE events, you have to imagine that could have rolled over into personal lives.
However, it’s just as likely that they realized their lives were headed in different directions – causing the split. We won’t know one way or another, until we get an interview from either of the parties involved.
Thriving In Both AEW & WWE
Right now, both are doing very well in their respective companies. Andrade El Idolo is one of the top heel acts in AEW, having recently been in the main event of AEW Dynamite. He faced Cody Rhodes in an Atlanta Street Fight, in a losing effort. With Hangman Page as AEW World Champion, we could see Andrade built back up as a future challenger for the popular babyface champion.
Charlotte Flair meanwhile is enjoying her 15th Women’s Championship reign in WWE. She’s Smackdown Women’s Champion currently, but lost in a champion vs. champion match to Becky Lynch at Survivor Series, marking her last major match to date.
