The outflux of talent continues in the WWE as Beth Phoenix announced today (December 12) vie social media that she’s leaving the broadcast booth at NXT after WarGames this Sunday.
This is a plus for the WWE in one way as she appears to be leaving on her own and isn’t part of a cost cutting measure as she said she’s staying with the WWE.
This does raise some questions about NXT 2.0 and if the commentators will eventually become a developmental aspect like the talent, however unlikely that appears.
The internet is full of well wishers for her as well as speculation about the future of NXT 2.0 and the mourning of what NXT used to be.
It’s an emotional time for many, but Beth most of all.

Saying goodbye for now
“Ahead of WarGames, I wanted to share that this Sunday will be my final night in NXT. While I will remain a part of WWE, I have made the choice to step away from the weekly broadcast booth to spend more time with my family. This was not an easy decision, as I have loved my three plus years and 135 episodes with NXT and am incredibly proud of the brand. I will forever be Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett, Nigel McGuinness, Tom Phillips, Mauro Renallo, Triple H. Shawn Michaels, Michael Cole, and my entire NXT family both in and out of the ring for this amazing opportunity. NXT will always be a part of me and Auntie Betty will always be a part of NXT. Leave the porch light on for me!”
Since she’s staying with the WWE, and that’s led to speculation that she could become a trainer or producer going forward for NXT or one of the other brands when she wants to return.
Beth also has other projects she’s been working on, including an EP that was released in November.
I am so proud to announce that THIS FRIDAY Nov 12 my debut EP will be released on all major music platforms! Music has always been a huge part of my heart and I'm so excited to share it with you! @wwe @WWENXT #piano #StoneRoseBone pic.twitter.com/EET6PeLOsI
