Since leaving the WWE for AEW, FTR has proven themselves as one of the best tag teams in the world instead of the stooges they were slated in the WWE more than not.
While there are undoubtedly many pleasant memories they’ll always have, the pair spoke about a not so good one that had when they appeared on Elite POV podcast.
As it turns out, a WWE producer managed to get under Cash Wheeler’s skin and it almost turned out bad for everyone, including Dax Harwood.
Hitting the wrong buttons
The story sounds like most we either hear or experience at some point as they talked about what brought the memory back.
Special thanks to Wrestlinginc.com for the following transcript.
Dax said: “Last night we were in Greensboro. I walked by this area and I remembered, ‘oh this is the room where a producer in WWE said something to Cash,’ and he got so mad he came to me and said, ‘hey, I am going to fight this guy, just to let you know.’ I said, ‘alright let’s do it,’” Dax Harwood stated. “We both waited and when we were done filming we were going to beat the sh*t out of him. It took filming forever and we were like, ‘oh whatever.’”
Cash then added that the producer was purposely trying to avoid them as Cash wanted to kill him.
“We waited for like 30 minutes, I was pretty determined,” Cash said. “He was purposefully trying to stay as busy as possible, he knew I was going to kill him, he already knew. He wasn’t unaware of it so he was purposefully trying to pretend, he had selective vision at that point.”
To be fair, with two on one odds against wrestlers there aren’t many who wouldn’t have taken their time and tried to avoid Cash and Dax.
Especially given their short tempers, which they also talked about.
“Somethings set me off quicker, something set him off quicker. I mean, pick your fuse. They’re both pretty short. I think it works out though because not the same things annoy us. So when he’s mad about something I can calm him down and then vice versa. So we do a good job at that. But when we are both fired up, then it’s a good time.”
While it’s good news that they didn’t go after the producer, it does have us wishing they would’ve said who it was. A couple that come to mind are Doc Hendricks and John Laurinaitis.
Hendricks doesn’t seem like the sort to dodge a fight, but aging makes cowards of us all. Laurinaitis sounds more logical since most rumors suggest he isn’t well liked.
Or it could’ve been something the producer said in jest Cash took the wrong way. Whoever is was and whatever they said, we’re willing to bet they didn’t repeat it again.
