Was disgraced former UFC champ and alleged wifebeater Jon Jones on something like performance enhancing drugs when he fought Daniel Cormier? Derek from “More Plates More Dates” certainly thinks so.
In a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, Derek discussed Jones’ abnormal testosterone levels at the time. Derek claimed that Jones’ urinary testosterone levels were truly bizarre, “literally like a female”.
Health Expert Accuses Jon Jones of “Usage of Something” Before DC Rematch
“There’s a variety of different things that could be happening but ultimately for him (Jon Jones), he got it in his system and on paper when you look at his testosterone and epitestosterone when he fought DC, they were so out of whack that it would not be explainable in my opinion by anything other than some sort of suppression of your system via the usage of something.
Suppression to the degree where he is literally like a female, probably not. Normally the levels would be over 10 times what he had in general. He was in the single digits for urinary testosterone which otherwise should be like 60 plus or something. He was like 4 or something.”
Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier’s rivalry was one of the most heated in UFC history. Their first fight, at UFC 182 in 2015, ended in a Jones victory. Their rematch, at UFC 214 also saw Jone win, this time via third-round knockout. This victory was later overturned, after Jon Jones tested positive for a turinabol metabolite.
Derek discussed this, too, with Joe Rogan. “So using those two drugs [Clomiphene and Petrosol] back then seems like something you would be doing to either prevent the gyno from what you were using at a time when it was less scrutinous perhaps or the clomid to recover or something was tainted, which is what his claim was.
But we already have history of his doing this, getting popped for something that’s pretty stupid to get popped for in the 2015/16 era.”
Jon Jones’ fall from grace in recent years has been compounded by legal issues, substance abuse, and doping violations. Most recently, after his induction into the UFC hall of fame, Jones was arrested on charges of domestic assault. His long-discussed move up to the heavyweight division is now in doubt, and Jones was kicked out of his longtime gym Jackson-Wink MMA over the issue.
With yet another controversy following Jones, do you think he’ll ever return to the UFC, or will Jones’ legacy be forever tarnished? Let us know in the comments.
