Queen Elizabeth II will reportedly be leaving a big tribute to her late husband Prince Philip during her annual Christmas Day message.
Queen Elizabeth II Will Honour The Late Prince Philip During Her Annual Christmas Speech
Prince Philip, for his part, passed away at the age of 99 which left a gaping hole in the Royal family. As a result, the Queen has become increasingly reliant upon Prince William and Kate Middleton especially since Prince Harry walked away from the Royal Family in 2020.
This was particularly seen through her recent health problems, which led to her being hospitalised overnight, as well as cancelling her trip on Remembrance Sunday which she was known for attending throughout the years.
That is why she wants to remember those that have been there for her along this journey. According to reports, the Queen is going to be wearing the same brooch she had on her honeymoon in 1947.
After all, this will be the first time she would be celebrating Christmas without Philip given that she had done it for 73 years previously.
In the picture here, we can see that the Queen has already recorded her Christmas speech in advance as she is sitting behind a desk.
She is wearing a red top as the brooch is clearly visible on her chest. On the left of the desk, there is a picture of her with the late Philip in what was clearly a happy moment.
Chris Ship, who happens to be a Royal editor, had this to say: “This year’s 3pm speech is described as “particularly personal” after her beloved Prince Philip died in April.”
“2021 will be the first Christmas the Queen will spend without the Duke of Edinburgh.” The response on social media towards the picture was completely bizarre and random.
A large proportion of people began to question whether this photo was genuine. So much so that they doubted whether it was actually the Queen.
One person on Twitter wrote: “Lmao she’s definitely died,” while another person stated: “This is clearly a robot.” With so much anticipation in the run-up to the speech, it cannot come soon enough.
Time will tell how it comes across with the public this Christmas. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below. Remember to stay up to date with the latest news on TheOvertimer. Don’t forget to visit ScreenJuicer for great videos, news, and gameplay!
