Queen Elizabeth II has been keeping herself disciplined in dealing with what has been a difficult period.
Royal Expert Praises Queen Elizabeth II For Being ‘Mentally Disciplined’ In Light Of Her Recent Struggles
That is according to Royal expert Ingrid Seward. The Queen, for her part, has had to deal with a lot of changes in her life as of late. Not only did her husband Prince Philip pass away recently, but she has also suffered from health problems too.
Just recently, she was forced to pull out of attending Remembrance Sunday, as well as reportedly spending the night in hospital. To make matters even more difficult, the relations between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not improved.
But in order to make sure that she is up to the task of the monarchy, the 95-year-old has been staying focused on the bigger picture.
In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Ingrid said: “Fundamentally she puts things in a box and says ‘that can be dealt with on Thursday,’ for example. She won’t let things crowd in on her.
“She is mentally disciplined and that has helped her through these 70 years.” While that is admirable, there are question marks over how long she can continue to do this.
This particularly true, when recent reports emerged that Prince William and Kate Middleton have taken on more of a leading role in the Royal duties.
However, even in light of her old age, the Queen has no plans of slowing down. She is on course for her Platinum Jubilee next year, which would mark her being in charge for 70 years. And that is something that she is apparently keeping her eyes focused on.
Ingrid stated: “Her ability to compartmentalise has been extremely helpful in her life…[She has] not allow[ed] things to overwhelm her.
“It goes a long way towards explaining her ability to be able to still be working at this age.”
The Queen should be lauded for how she continues to put the country before her very own needs. But whether this ends up doing more damage to her health in the long run is anyone’s guess. We will have to see how this will play out.
