When it comes to the releases from WWE in 2021, no one expected Scotty 2 Hotty to be on the list. He’s been working as a trainer in the WWE Performance Center, training the next generation of professional wrestlers. One of the most popular acts in the attitude era was Too Cool, the trio of Rikishi, Grand Master Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty. WWE even had Grand Master Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty fight for the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT Arrival.
Listing His Post WWE Goals
With his 23 year long career with WWE coming to an end, Scotty has some big plans in mind for his future. He wants to do two things – wrestle and have fun, and would make that clear with a tweet to his 167.6K followers.
“My non compete with WWE ends Dec. 23. Here are my top 10 goals for 2022. It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks, filled with so many positive texts, comments, and phone calls. It has been overwhelmingly awesome and I can’t thank you all enough. Can’t wait to see you all in 2022.”
This tweet was accompanied by a screenshot of his notes app – showing his to do list. It’s contents are “Finally wrestle in Mexico. HAVE FUN! Wrestle in Japan. HAVE FUN! Wrestle in front of my kids. HAVE FUN! Wrestle in the UK. HAVE FUN! Wrestle on national TV. HAVE FUN!”
AEW Is On The Radar Of Scotty 2 Hotty
When it comes to these goals, there are many companies to accomplish the first four wrestling goals. His style will be over in Mexico, with AAA likely to find a spot for him on a future show. Getting him on a DDT show in Japan would create something truly special. The UK indies are healing, and any of these shows could also have his kids in attendance. Having fun just comes with being able to finally get back in the ring.
Wrestling on national TV means he has his eyes on a deal with AEW – even just to work a single match on an episode of Dynamite or Rampage. We could even see him be brought in as a coach, a role which legends such as Dean Malenko fill in the company.
