Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
This looks like it’s going to be a fun night with Toni Storm challenging Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship and a “12 Days of Christmas” 12 man gauntlet for a shot tat the Intercontinental Championship.
We’ll be back at the 8 p.m. EST start time to get WWE Smackdown Live Results rolling.
Segment 1
Paul Heyman gave an interview with Kayla Braxton and he said he was fired for telling Roman Reigns the truth he didn’t want to hear, but he doesn’t regret it. It’s his job to protect Reigns and the Universal Championship.
He doesn’t know what he’s going to do now and his career might be over.
Segment 2
Smackdown Women’s Championship – Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Toni Storm
Flair dominated early on with a couple of flourishes and pin attempts by Storm before Flair sent her to the floor with a big boot as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
Though one-sided, Storm never gave up and kept fighting back until Flair countered her one more time and scored the pin by way of a small package to retain the Smackdown Women’s Championship.
Segment 4
“12 Days of Christmas” 12 Man Gauntlet Match
Mansoor and Angel started it off, and after a quick spirited contest Angel won with a wing clipper.
Angel vs. Erik
Angel went after Erik before he could enter the ring, but Erik caught his moonsault off the top rope and hit a body slam as we headed to commercial.
Segment 5
Erik came close with a couple of moves, but Angel dodged a double knee in the corner and hit a wing clipper for his second win.
Angel vs. Shanky
Whelp, Angel tried but Shanky destroyed him for the pin.
Shanky vs. Ivar
This was a quick one as Ivar took the fight to Shanky and pinned him following a splash from the top rope.
Ivar vs. Sheamus
Sheamus went right after Ivar, but Ivar returned the favor and hammered away, sending Sheamus over the top rope with a right as we headed to commercial.
Segment 6
Ivar almost got the win, but Sheamus hit a Brogue Kick for the win.
Sheamus vs. Drew Gulak
Sheamus met him with a Brogue Kick to win in about 4 seconds.
Sheamus vs. Cesaro
This was hard fought, but short as Holland distracted Cesaro for Sheamus to hit a Brogue Kick for the win.
Sheamus vs. Ricochet
Ricochet sent Sheamus to the floor with a crossbody, then hit a moonsault over the top rope as we headed to commercial.
Segment 7
This was a great match as Ricochet gave Sheamus all he could handle before Cesaro came down and took out Holland and Ricochet rolled up Sheamus for the win. The scales were even, but then Sheamus hit a Brogue Kick after the match as Humberto came out.
Ricochet vs. Humberto
This was a quick one as Humberto tried to take advantage, but Ricochet hit a Recoil for the quick win.
Ricochet vs. Jinder Mahal
Mahal went for a quick win, but Ricochet rolled him up to continue on.
Segment 8
Ricochet vs. Sami Zayn
This was a good back and forth and Ricochet came close to getting the win, but Zayn prevailed with a Helluva Kick for the win and a shot at Nakamura at Day 1 for the Intercontinental Championship.
Segment 9
A cool retrospective of Paul Heyman’s career took up a good portion of the segment, hinting that he may indeed retire and return to the creative side of things but we’ll have to wait and see.
Segment 10
Miracle on 34th Street Fight – Drew McIntyre and The New Day (King Woods, Kofi Kingston) vs. The Usos (Jimmy and Jey) and Madcap Moss w/Happy Corbin
This started slow, but eventually broke down and the New Day and Uso battled up the ramp and Corbin beat McIntyre down with a candy cane colored kendo stick.
The Usos put the New Day through the present and trees on the stage as we headed to commercial.
Segment 11
The chaos continued as they went back and forth from the floor to the ring as the Usos and New Day continued to square off while McIntyre and Moss had a pretty good fight themselves.
Corbin prevented a Claymore, and Kofi dumped a pitcher of egg nog over his head, and McIntyre dumped a pitcher over Corbin and Moss before hitting a Claymore on Moss for the win.
They closed the show by throwing wrapped packages to the fans in celebration.
This was a pretty good show if the matches were predictable and we have no real complaints as it flowed well. What did you think of it? Let us know in the comments below and thank you for joining WWE Smackdown Live Results.
We had a blast and can’t wait for next week.
See you then!
