Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
Tonight’s going to be a fun one as Brock Lesnar‘s returning and we’re curious how Adam Pearce and Roman Reigns will handle things.
We’re going to grab some snacks and be back for the 8 p.m. EST showtime to get WWE Smackdown Live Results rolling.
Segment 1
Brock Lesnar came out and talked about his suspension and how he’s there for the Universal Championship when Sami Zayn came out.
In what’s one of the best back and forth promos we’ve seen in a while on Smackdown, Lesnar talked Zayn into facing Reigns tonight for the title and Lesnar will be in his corner to watch his back.
Segment 2
Sasha Banks vs. Shayna Baszler
Banks took the fight to Baszler right away and hit a meteora on the floor and threw Baszler into the ring for a pin attempt as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
This was a pretty good match that Banks won by countering a gut wrench suplex into a roll up for the win.
Segment 4
Happy Talk
After poking fun at Jeff Hardy and Drew McIntyre, McIntyre kept them distracted for Jeff to hit Corbin and then Moss with a Twist of Fate. McIntyre finished it with a Claymore to Moss.
Segment 5
The Viking Raiders (Erik, Ivar) vs. Los Letharios (Humberto Carrillo, Angel Garza)
After Erik and Ivar took it to them, Angel and Humberto had it won when Nakamura and Boogs tried to distract them with a guitar solo on the announce table.
Humberto instead rolled Erik up for the win. The Viking Raiders took exception to the “help” but Boogs soothed them by playing their theme song.
Segment 6
Jey Uso w/Jimmy Uso vs. King Woods w/Kofi Kingston
This was a quick one as Jimmy pulled Woods off the top rope for the DQ win.
Segment 7
Charlotte Flair cut a promo talking down Toni Storm and once again refused her a match. As she left the ring, Storm snuck up behind her and hit Flair in the face with a pie.
Segment 8
Cesaro vs. Sheamus
This was a good one and it looks like they may be reigniting this feud, but before it gets that far, Sheamus won a hard fought match with a Brogue Kick for the win.
Segment 9
Universal Championship – Roman Reigns (c) w/Paul Heyman vs. Sami Zayn
Before the match, Zayn ripped into the fans and called Lesnar his best friend and thanked him for having his back. Lesnar came out and Zayn dropped a hint for him to help him win since Lesnar’s recent record against Reigns is weak.
Lesnar took Zayn on a tour of Suplex City and hit two F-5s before propping him up in a corner and leaving as we headed to commercial.
Segment 10
The Usos propped Zayn up when he collapsed and Reigns his a spear and a guillotine for the submission in roughly 6 seconds.
This was a rough show that was predictable and the ending was bad. Looks like we’re paying for a couple of really good shows in a row. We got to have a clunker at some point. Hope next week is a rebound episode.
