Recently, Eddie Kingston made something very clear – that he felt Chris Jericho was holding Santana & Ortiz back. Many fans agreed with this, and feel they should have been AEW World Tag Team Champions long ago. However, they were busy fighting battles against The Elite, The Pinnacle and American Top Team. Tonight, they again help Chris Jericho with one of his fights – as they take on 2point0 and Daniel Garcia, and might look to prove to Jericho he isn’t needed to win this match.
Wardlow Claims A Quick Handicap Win
First, we’d see Cleveland’s favourite son, Wardlow would hit the ring for a handicap match. With an 18-1 record in his last 19 matches, he would tell Shawn Spears to stay on the ramp. His opponents were Elijah Dean and James Alexander, and it was their AEW debut.
Wardlow started fast with some lariats, before alternating powerbombs on both opponents. With two opponents, he might hit double digits on the powerbomb symphony, and he’d quickly hit five. Number six would be powerbombing Alexander onto Dean, and this one was over – as Wardlow pinned two men with his feet.
Santana & Ortiz Try To Beat 2point0 & Daniel Garcia On Their Own
Chris Jericho would kick things off with Matt Lee, before Santana tagged himself in. Lee took advantage with an attack from behind, before Jeff Parker tagged himself in. Santana was in a fighting mood, and would pummelled Parker with punches before setting up the Three Amigos. Ortiz tagged in and hit a running splash, before Parker got the tag to Lee who hit a back elbow, before Garcia tagged in.
Ortiz would get chopped down, with some heavy kicks to the leg from Garcia. Garcia was clinical in his attack on Ortiz, with him stretching him with a Bow & Arrow Stretch while keeping the ring cut in half. Ortiz would nearly get free when Lee tagged in, before Parker got the tag in. The drop toehold into elbow drop landed, but Santana made the save.
Ortiz had a choice to make, but tagged in Santana instead of the fresh Jericho. Santana would catch Garcia with a driver, before taking out 2point0. Jericho went down the floor and Ortiz set up a double cutter on 2point0 before a powerbomb into a lariat got a two count. Jericho would pull Lee out the ring, and hit Parker with Judas effect – before Santana claimed the win with a piledriver.
He’d flip off Santana & Ortiz before heading the back. Is this the end of The Inner Circle? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
