Jenna Jameson has been diagnosed with GBS—Guillain-Barré syndrome. She’d been feeling weakened and sick for some time before getting checked and making the update. GBS is a condition where the immune system works against the person, damaging their nerves. The result can be paralysis in some cases.

On Saturday, her fiancé Lior Bitton relayed that the former porn actress was in the hospital after throwing up for weeks. At the moment, she is being treated via IVIg or intravenous immunoglobulin therapy.

She has said that she hopes to go home soon and that it is nothing COVID-19 or vaccine-related—although, GBS is a rare side effect of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine. Jameson said that she was never vaccinated.
After initially going in to see what was wrong, she was allowed to return home but found that she didn’t have the strength to hold her own weight. Jameson even collapsed while using a walker to get around. Bitton said via Instagram:
Then she came back home and she couldn’t carry herself. Her muscles in her legs were very weak. So she wasn’t able to walk to the bathroom. She was falling on the way back or to the bathroom and then I would have to pick her up and carry her to bed. And then within two days it go really not so good, her legs started to not hold her, she couldn’t — she wasn’t able to walk.
Jenna Jameson is said to be recovering from the condition. GBS is considered a very rare condition that results in roughly 20,000 cases annually in the U.S. It is more frequent in men and can affect vision, coordination, and mobility as it impacts the muscles. The condition can also last for months or years.
According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, symptoms can include coordination problems, abnormal heartbeat and blood pressure, pains, trouble chewing and swallowing, and a pricking sensation in the feet and hands.
