Pete Dunne & Tony D’Angelo are finally going to resolve their issues. They first clashed in WarGames, where D’Angelo hit a swinging neckbreaker off the top rope with a crowbar to aid him. In a straight up singles match, he held his own with the former NXT UK Champion – but fell to a Bitter End. After the match, he grabbed the crowbar once again – and whacked the hand of Dunne. Tonight, that crowbar is hanging high on a pole – and whoever grabs it, gets to use it legally.
Crowbars Are Legal As Tony D’Angelo Knocks Off Pete Dunne
Dunne was coming in with extra anger and a hurt hand. D’Angelo would go for the crowbar, before taking some chops. A knee strike and suplex attempt would follow, with Dunne catching him in an armbar before stomping on the neck of D’Angelo. Dunne went after the crowbar but was pulled down and caught with a big capture suplex.
D’Angelo almost had the crowbar, before Dunne stomped him out and almost shook it loose. A kick to the head would come to D’Angelo before he’d plant Dunne with a Falcon Arrow. A commercial breakout would come and go, and D’Angelo was in control. Weapons were pulled out during the break, but if it’s not the crowbar on a pole – you can’t use it. Dunne was stomping away on the arm of D’Angelo, but still not enough time to get the crowbar.
D’Angelo hit a German Suplex, and grabbed the crowbar so now it’s a legal weapon, Dunne disarmed him, but D’Angelo took him to the outside and chucked him onto the apron. D’Angelo would look to repeat the damage from a few weeks ago, but missed and got kicked in the face.
Back in the ring, Dunne applied a crossface with the crowbar, before D’Angelo hit a neckbreaker with it and got a two count. A second attempt was blocked and Dunne nailed some kicks and a knee strike. Grabbing a crowbar, he’d get German Suplexed but landed on his feet and tripped D’Angelo into an STF.
D’Angelo escaped and went outside to grab a steel chair, but couldn’t use it. Triangle Choke was applied but D’Angelo got his foot on the rope. One good swing of the crowbar, and Dunne was out.
Wendy Choo Gets Her First Win In NXT 2.0
We’re coming up on the 2022 Dusty Rhodes tag team classic. Two teams to watch are the speedy duo of Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter, and the power of Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta. Carter & Catanzaro have a friend in Amari Miller, and Hartwell & Pirotta have joined forces with newcomer Wendy Choo for a six woman tag team clash tonight. Wendy Choo has been seen napping around the PC ahead of this match, and is wrestling in a onesie.
Hartwell would start the match alongside Miller, and Choo was asleep in the corner. Miller would send Hartwell outside and hit a scary dive to the floor. Carter & Catanzaro would follow, and Choo was just waking up as Briggs & Jensen watched backstage.
Back in the ring, Hartwell would take a flatliner as Pirotta got back to the apron only to take a dropkick. Carter got a two count, before Choo had a drink and got a tag. Complete with Bunny Slippers, she’d nail a huge lariat and belly to belly suplex on Miller before a handspring elbow and another suplex. Choo took a nap and kicked away from a pin attempt. Pirotta hit a big slam and Hartwell hit the diving elbow for the win.
