Ever since LA Knight showed up in WWE’s third brand of NXT, there has always been a question of ‘Why is he here’? It had nothing to do with the in-ring skills or promo skills of LA Knight, who proved himself for years in Impact Wrestling, but mostly because he was already beyond the level of NXT. He was someone with nothing to learn, and that’s become even more clear with the transition to NXT 2.0. However, recent dark matches ahead of Smackdown Live have gotten him some attention – and Knight has a main roster spot waiting for him now.
LA Knight Has WWE Officials High On Him
Right now, it’s expected that LA Knight shows up on the main roster in the Spring – likely after Wrestlemania. WWE officials are very high on Knight right now, which bodes well for his future. We might also see him show up sooner than that, as he’s already taped a confrontation with Bobby Roode & Dolph Ziggler – a sign of things to come.
There were no such reports about Roderick Strong however. He was working dark matches alongside LA Knight, but now seems to be settling back into his ‘player-coach’ role in NXT 2.0, as the ace of the Diamond Mine faction. Knight has a more ‘main roster’ friendly style, and his promo skills are far beyond what Strong is capable of.
Needing To Wrap Up His Feud With Grayson Waller First
However, before Knight is done in NXT – he needs to end his feud with Grayson Waller. This issue has been going on since October, when both men were looking to be the host of Halloween Havoc. Things have only gotten worse since then, with both men even clashing in WarGames.
Now, Waller & Knight are just a few steps away from a big feud ending match – perhaps as soon as NXT: Vengeance Day. If Knight can finish up in the brand ahead of Wrestlemania, there is a good chance he pops up in time to make his Wrestlemania debut in April.
