The show would kick off in dynamic fashion – as LA Knight hit the ring to take the fight to Grayson Waller. The Megastar of NXT 2.0 would ask her his music to be hit – and hit a hero’s welcome. Last week, he’d help AJ Styles beat down Waller – and this week he’d grab a live microphone.
LA Knight Gives Grayson Waller Two Options
After some catchphrases, Knight would get right to business. Grayson Waller was called out, with Knight hoping to finish what he started. Being the coward that he is, Waller would be a no-show, and Knight would even turn his back to allow an ambush. All the while, the crowd was chanting about how much he sucks.
Waller hates the crowds who chant against him, but hates the sound of Knight even more – because he knows it’ll come to an asskicking. This has been brewing since before Halloween Havoc, and Knight would recount every time Waller failed to take him down, and when Waller failed to get a girl in the parking lot.
Finally, Waller would hit the ramp with a restraining order. It was against LA Knight, who he claims he’d love to fight. Waller got the order after Knight attacked him from behind last night, for no reason at all. He’d slip Knight the document, and if he gets within 50 feet of Waller – he gets arrested.
Knight called this act of cowardice impressive, and the crowd chanted for Knight to rip it up. Instead, Knight called for another man who has issues with Waller – Dexter Lumis. Lumis slipped out from under the ring and nearly applied the Silence. He’d be given two options, give up the order and get dropped on his head or choked out. Either way he’s screwed, and that’s just a fact of life.
Grayson Waller Gains A Bodyguard
Back from the break, and Waller chose Dexter Lumis – meaning Knight is still barred from going near Waller. Lumis was one step ahead of Waller, and caught a kick before a big lariat. A cheap attack allowed Waller to get into control, before a smart armbreaker. Going after the arm removes the threat of Silence.
Lumis shot back with the pop-up uppercut, before a slow neckbreaker, and the crowd asked for a second one. A jawbreaker got Waller a chance, before he’d be sent to the apron. An armbreaker over the ropes would be followed with a baseball slide into a lariat right in-front of the commentary desk.
Back in the ring, Waller applied a tight hammerlock – before applying the Waller Escape, fitting as he was the one to take Gargano out. Lumis knew the counter well, but the damage was done. Waller tried to go for the springboard elbow, but was press slammed across the ring instead. Not enough to keep Waller down, he’d go right back to the hammerlock.
Lumis fought free and nailed some short lariats, before a big back body drop. The leg drop would follow, before the Side Effect into a Silence attempt – but Waller got the ropes. On the outside, Lumis kept looking for the hold – and was driven into the corner. Someone attacked Lumis at ringside and Waller nailed the rolling stunner for the win. It’d be the former Saurav who helped Waller – and that might be all he needed to reach the top.
