SANADA & Tetsuya Naito had a strong run through World Tag League, and showed their skills when they defeated the powerful duo of Jeff Cobb & Great-O-Khan on the finals night. Naito got the pin that night, and will face Jeff Cobb tonight, which puts SANADA on route for a clash with O-Khan. Both of these men have incredible technical wrestling skills, and tonight will get to show this off.
Pro Wrestling NOAH Invades Tokyo Dome
Before this match, the talent of Pro Wrestling NOAH led by Keiji Mutoh would come to the ring. Their factions will unite to take on NJPW on January 8th. The whole roster was in the NJPW ring in Tokyo Dome, and this was the first time Muto has been here since Wrestle Kingdom 8 .
On January 8th, NOAH will take the fight to NJPW – and fans will recognize them as the true top promotion in Japan. Kenoh would claim that the empty seats aren’t because of COVID-19, but because NJPW can’t fill them. Shingo came to the ring, but Kenoh pointed out that he is the man who lost last night. He says that NJPW will prove they’re the best, and Shingo was tempted to attack NOAH with only BUSHI & Takahashi to back him up.
Kenoh didn’t get a fight tonight, but on January 8th – they can’t run from NOAH. They will change the pecking order of Japanese pro wrestling soon – and will be the top promotion in Japan again. NOAH would give the ring back to NJPW so they can finish their show.
SANADA Outworks Great-O-Khan
SANADA would start this one off with some grappling – as O-Khan had agreed to show that he can work the style of SANADA. He’d be sent to the outside with a dropkick, and tease a dive to the outside, before missing a moonsault. O-Khan would follow up with a lariat, before a waist lock takedown.
SANADA would take some of those big Mongolian Chops from O-Khan before being able to block, and getting a basement dropkick to the knee of O-Khan. To the outside, SANADA hit a dive – and back in the ring, he’d look for Paradise Lock. O-Khan blocked and hit a huge flatliner, before SANADA rolled out of the ring.
SANADA would goad O-Khan to go for a dive, and dive he did! A reverse powerslam and pumpkick would follow, before a two count off a well bridged European Clutch. Sheep Killer was applied by O-Khan, but SANADA escaped and blocked the Eliminator, before an European Clutch allowed for O-Khan to regain control.
Back to the sheep killer, SANADA would once again slip free before hitting a Tiger Suplex and looking for the Muta Moonsault, landing on the knees of O-Khan on his way down. They’d trade strikes, with a straight punch to the jaw of SANADA almost ending this one. O-Khan hit a moonsault and looked for the Eliminator, only for SANADA to roll him up with the Japanese Leg Roll Clutch for the win!
