Prince Charles is reportedly keen on seeing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the next time they arrive in the UK.
Prince Charles Invites Harry And Meghan To The UK As He Is Desperate To Meet His Grandkids-‘There Is Something Missing From His Life’
As of now, the prospects of that happening are very slim for the following reasons. First of all, Harry is currently engaged in a legal battle over whether he will be allowed to fund his own security while traveling to the UK.
And things have reached a deadlock, with his representatives confirming that Harry no longer feels it would be safe to visit unless he had adequate security.
Secondly, initial reports had indicated that Charles was the one that expressed concerns about Archie’s skin colour which became the source of major headlines in Harry and Meghan’s Oprah Winfrey interview.
And yet, Charles is desperate to see his grandkids in particular Lilibet who he has not managed to meet as of yet.
A source said: “The Prince of Wales has been saddened that he hasn’t had the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren, which he really does miss.
“He feels there is something missing from his life without the ability to get to know Harry’s children.” Despite Charles’ intentions, there is a feeling that a power move may be being played.
And given that the Prince of Wales is next in line to the throne, coupled with the fact that Harry’s tell-all memoir is coming out this year, this move could be seen as a way to save face in case Harry reveals some disconcerting information.
Nevertheless, sources stress that Charles is acting in good faith. The source added: “In the meantime there has been a series of good-natured and enjoyable calls between them all which is something the prince very much looks forward to.”
In reality, the outcome of Harry’s legal challenge over the viability of his security will be crucial here. And if it does end up being ruled in favour of Harry, then a visit would be a welcome distraction for the Royal family in light of Prince Andrew’s sexual assault case.
After all, a reconciliation would be the best start to 2022. Time will tell how this all plays out. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
