Now that the WWE has split up Omos and AJ Styles, and Omos destroyed him on Raw, everyone is wondering what’s next for Omos?
It’s a good question as he remains a huge unknown for fans. He’s a perfect enigma in the vein of his idol Andre the Giant, and he should be booked that way.
Of course, this is where things get tricky because he’s so much larger than most of the roster they have to be careful how they book him.
We know the smaller high flyers won’t win as Styles is the best of the bunch in that regard, and having Omos lose to anyone right now feels like the wrong thing to do, even if it’s by disqualification or count out it has to be done sporadically.
Building a legend
While Andre lost over the years, they were mostly at house shows or at big events the WWE chose to ignore to continue building up hype for him.
Andre was an attraction and Omos should be treated the same way as they build up opponents for him.
The best way to go about it, in my opinion, is to have him be the destroyer. Continue building him up to be a monster no one can defeat with handicap matches and the like.
He can have good matches against the bigger stars where it’s two giants going head to head, and after he continues winning he could develop an ego to the point he’ll look at the championships as passe.
He won’t be interested in them, but he could still tease a confrontation with a champion until the time is right for him to face someone strong enough to make defeating him look believable.
At the moment, the only ones that come to mind in that regard are Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley, Big E, Drew McIntyre, and Roman Reigns on the main brands.
Otis would be another fun matchup after they were teased a while back before Omos leveled him. They’d be great in a feud and it’d help put both over even more if they fight to a draw or Otis takes a hard earned loss after a 15 minute match.
There are plenty of options out there, and we hope the WWE looks back at Andre’s career on how to book their new Colossus.
At the moment, we think Omos will mainly be a presence backstage until someone decides to challenge him or upset him by accident. Then we won’t so much as see a feud but a slaughter.
