Drew McIntyre has been dominant since being drafted to Smackdown Live, and looks to show this tonight. Normally you wouldn’t find someone like Madcap Moss on a PPV card in a singles match, but that’s the starpower of a match with McIntyre. Moss might act a fool alongside Happy Corbin, but this former football player certainly will understand how much a PPV win is worth.
Big E Will Still Walk Out Of WWE As WWE Champion
Before this match, we’d catch up with WWE Champion Big E. He didn’t expect to have to face Brock Lesnar, but he was always ready for this. Line them up, and Big E will knock them down. He will walk through fire to remain WWE Champion – and adding Brock Lesnar doesn’t change his hopes.
Of course, Lesnar was added into the WWE Championship match after Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19 just ahead of this show. Lesnar was supposed to meet Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship, but now gets to clash with Big E, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley & Kevin Owens. This is quickly being compared to the Summerslam 2017 main event, where Lesnar met Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe in an excellent Fatal Four Way match.
Drew McIntyre Starts 2022 With A Big Win Over Madcap Moss
After some painfully bad jokes from Madcap Moss & Happy Corbin, McIntyre would hit the ring with sword in hand. Moss was driven down with ease, but was somehow able to corner McIntyre for some boots. Just as quickly, Moss would lose control and get sent to the outside and thrown far with a belly to belly suplex.
Corbin ran a distraction and McIntyre was launched into the corner post. Back in the ring, Moss showed some impressive speed with some shoulder tackles, before applying a chinlock. McIntyre would fight free and nail another Belly to Belly Suplex, before a neckbreaker. Future Shock DDT wouldn’t work, but a pop-up spinebuster got a two count.
Moss shot back with a Fallaway Slam, but was only able to get a two count. A neckbreaker was blocked into a roll up from McIntyre before landing the Future Shock. Moss would get tossed off the top rope before taking Claymore for the finish.
