Mahogany’s pictures look so realistic due to heavy editing. The same photos also exist on all her social media pages, so fans think she is a scammer who is using fake pictures of Mahogany. Fans believe Ben Rathbun is dating a catfish. Mahogany Roca also refused to video chat, and when she did, it lasted for a few seconds and it was heavily filtered.

Some viewers also discovered tagged photos of Mahogany without filters on her mother’s Facebook page and she doesn’t look like herself. Ben felt something in his life change when he met Mahogany thanks to his fitness model stint.
When Ben boarded his flight to Peru to see Mahogany, she ghosted him, saying her father does not Ben’s intentions. Shockingly, it was the second time she stopped the American man from meeting her in the three months they’ve been talking.
Ben has said that Mahogany is worth sticking around for. She has also been saying that she is real and viewers should stick around until the end.
On Twitter user, called out Mahogany, saying, “I’ve seen the unfiltered pix of Mahogany (yes she’s real) and she’s attractive but she doesn’t look the same as her pix and she’s only 21 or 22 instead of 24” after watching the show, and Mahogany tweeted back that, “The photos you saw without retouching are mine at 15 or 17. Now I’m 22. I don’t look the same.”

Fans find Ben Rathbun and Mahogany Roca’s storyline confusing. Her unfiltered photos, her age changing from 24 to 22, and her filtered video calls have left fans confused. The unfiltered photos fans saw on her mother, Silvia’s page were taken between 2019 and 2020.
So even if she is 22 now, she couldn’t have been a teenager at the time she pictures were taken. Perhaps, she stood Ben up at the airport because she got scared as she doesn’t actually look like the pictures on her social media pages. Her press photo shared by TLC does not look like the retouched photos or the unfiltered ones.
Some fans think Mahogany will only give a private interview to TLC in the finale or the Tell-All, and Ben may never meet her.
