Right now, we’re in the middle of a mini-feud between Bobby Lashley & Brock Lesnar. They first met at WWE Day One as part of a Fatal Five Way over the WWE Championship, and later at Royal Rumble in their first single meeting. Lashley got the win at Royal Rumble, albeit due to the help of Roman Reigns. Now, despite being set to meet Lesnar in Elimination Chamber – Lashley wants to have another one on one match with Lesnar – and knows the perfect match to give fans something memorable.
Bobby Lashley Wants To Meet Brock Lesnar In The Fight Pit
While speaking to Graham GSM Matthews of Bleacher Report, Lashley would say that he feels there is still a lot of ground for this feud to cover. While some fans think a Street Fight would be the answer after their last match came down to interference – but Lashley has a better idea.
“The only thing that doesn’t interest me is a Street Fight. I think what I can do with my fists is going to be more brutal than what I can do with a kendo stick or with a table or with a chair. I don’t think we even need that and I think he feels the same way. I think he’d rather suplex me than swing a stick at me. So many people want to see it that a Fight Pit would be cool. Put on some MMA gloves and get in a cage. I think any one of those things interest me.”
Both Lashley & Lesnar are celebrated MMA fighters, making the MMA inspired Fight Pit a perfect place for them to truly settle their differences. Right now, WWE have only run two Fight Pit matches. Both took place down in NXT, with Timothy Thatcher taking on both Matt Riddle & Tommaso Ciampa.
With the rebrand to NXT 2.0, it’s unlikely they will bring this match back to the brand. However there is a lot of potential on the main roster. WWE could re-work the match to be the signature match of Lashley even, giving him something to help him stand out even more.
