After spending over a decade in WWE, the run of Cesaro has finally ended. His latest contract has ended, and Cesaro didn’t agree to a new deal within the company. This came as a shock to many, both to his friends within WWE, and fans all around the world. However, WWE legend Mick Foley is ready to see what comes next – after WWE failed to realise the potential of Cesaro.
Mick Foley Felt Cesaro Should Have Been A World Champion In WWE
Following the WWE exit of Cesaro, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley would chime in with his opinions on Cesaro – and in what should be a shock to no one was very positive. He’d have the following to say about Cesaro.
“I’m really disappointed because I had been one of Cesaro’s biggest proponents for a long time ever since I saw him working in the independents in the early 2000s. I saw him in Ring of Honor, 2005 or 2006.
Man, Vince McMahon just never saw in him what I saw and what so many of you saw, which was a world champion. But in this case, I feel like WWE’s loss is the wrestling world’s gain. Because this guy, Cesaro, can work anywhere in the world. While AEW would obviously be a great destination for him, I’d love to see him just venture out.”
A Coming Surprise In The Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match?
Right now, an AEW debut feels incredibly obvious for Cesaro. While fans online will groan about another ‘WWE guy’ joining the AEW roster, Cesaro remains one of the greatest professional wrestlers in the world today. Much like with the likes of Keith Lee, Buddy Matthews, Andrade El Idolo & Malakai Black – AEW would be fools to pass up on Cesaro simply due to him having been employed by WWE.
Right now, AEW have a perfect chance to debut Cesaro – with the Face of The Revolution Ladder Match just over a week away. Having Cesaro as a surprise entrant, and start his AEW run by literally grabbing a brass ring? That’d be a moment to remember.
