As a condition for getting a chance to reclaim the NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Championships tomorrow night, CHAOS had to give House of Torture something as well. They wanted a title shot in return, and got it as Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI put the IWGP Team Championships on the line tonight against the duo of EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi.
Goto & YOSHI-HASHI beat Dangerous Tekkers at Wrestle Kingdom to claim gold after also winning the 2021 World Tag League. Tonight they will once again have to show tag team mastery if they hope to get past the duo of EVIL & Takahashi – who are both former tag team champions in NJPW.
House Of Torture Gets The First Blow On CHAOS
Before Goto & YOSHI-HASHI even hit the ring, SHO & Dick Togo would attack from behind. House of Torture had laid out CHAOS before the bell, meaning the referee could do nothing. EVIL would drag YOSHI-HASHI to the ring so the match could start, and Yujiro Takahashi would stomp away on YOSHI-HASHI.
YOSHI-HASHI would run EVIL down before getting some aid from Goto with a hip toss into a senton on Takahashi before beating down EVIL with the war drum. A heavy knife edge chop staggered Takahashi before he’d distract the referee as SHO & Togo pulled YOSHI-HASHi out the ring and flapjacked him onto the ring apron.
Ishii & YOH were slow as always on the save, and YOSHI-HASHI would almost be pinned in the ring. Takahashi followed up with the single leg dropkick before tagging in EVIL who laid in the heavy chops. YOSHI-HASHI was hanging on through the attacks, as EVIL provoked Goto to draw the referees attention.
EVIL took some elbow strikes before raking the eyes of YOSHI-HASHI, only to have his leg fed to the hands of the referee and taking a shot to the midsection. Goto would get the tag and hit the wheel kick in the corner before the bulldog got a two count. EVIL would fight out of the Ushigoroshi before sending Goto into exposed steel.
Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI Overcome The Odds
On the outside of the ring, EVIL would drive Goto into the timekeeper’s table, sending them flying. Back in the ring, Takahashi hit a bodyslam before biting the forehead of Goto. A snap legdrop would follow, before EVIL tagged in and choked Goto with a shirt. Goto would keep fighting, hitting some strikes before having his face whipped off the mat – only to come back with a lariat.
YOSHI-HASHI hit a neckbreaker for a near fall after getting the tag from Goto, before Takahashi nailed a boot to the face. Angle Slam landed for a near fall, before Goto stopped the attempt of the Pimp Juice DDT. YOSHI-HASHI tried for Karma, before Dick Togo ran a distraction and Takahashi nailed the low blow before throwing his opponent into the referee. House of Torture would unite in the ring, before Goto came in with a Bo Staff and took them out.
YOSHI-HASHI nailed a big southpaw lariat, before looking for Karma. Takahashi blocked only to take the GYR as Goto hit the ring, but EVIL made the save. Headhunter took EVIL out, and Takahashi had to fight free of another double team attack. YOSHI-HASHI would take a chair shot and Pimp Juice – but was able to kick out.
EVIL came in again and was thrown into the exposed steel before being dropped with GTW. YOSHI-HASHI nailed the superkick before Violent Flash and Shoto claimed the victory for CHAOS!
