Kyle Sandilands, who happens to be a major supporter of the monarchy in Australia, has declared that he will no longer be backing them once Queen Elizabeth dies.
High Profile Monarchist Kyle Sandilands Claims He Will Stop Supporting The Royal Family Once Queen Elizabeth Dies
This is a major setback, especially since there are already concerns about who is going to be taking over. Given that Prince Charles is next in line to the throne, that has not gone down well for the following reasons.
First of all, his affair with Duchess Camilla Parker Bowles while he was married to Princess Diana has always been in the public memory.
Secondly, given that reports indicated he was the one that had expressed concerns about Prince Harry’s son Archie’s skin color, that is exactly the last thing that people would want their future monarch to be saying.
And for Kyle, he is not keen on seeing Charles take the throne. In an official statement, he said: “I only like the Queen. Not that dildo [Prince Charles] and that tampon he’s going to marry [Camilla, the future Queen Consort]. I don’t like it.”
Nevertheless, his comments did not go down well with his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson. She was of the view that the Royal family was much bigger than one person and therefore support had to be given to whoever was in charge of it.
However, this only went on to rile Kyle further, as he doubled down on his beliefs that he would refuse to recognize Prince Charles as having any legitimacy. He added: “Not my king. I’ll say no to that. ‘It’s possible [I will not be a royalist].”
The response on social media was mixed. While Kyle did have supporters for his cause, a certain subset of people felt that the manner in which he was going about it was not the correct way.
In fact, this would only go onto alienate people who would otherwise join his cause. One person wrote: “Own goal. Getting agreement on a republic is going to be hard enough without you bringing divisive characters like him into it.”
Time will tell whether Kyle Sandiland’s comments do gain some traction or not. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
