Queen Elizabeth II has put her struggles with Covid-19 to one side by congratulating the nation on their success in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games.
Queen Elizabeth II Congratulates The British Women’s Curling Team For Winning Gold At The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games
Reports indicated that the Queen had suffered with the virus and was exhibiting ‘mild symptoms’ as a result. While she could have been expected to take some time off in order to recuperate, she has decided to do anything but that.
And in keeping with the fortitude that she has shown, the monarch decided to show how proud she was of the British women’s curling team for winning the gold medal.
In an official statement, she said: “I send my warmest congratulations to the Team GB Women’s Curling team on your outstanding performance in winning the Gold Medal at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, following the Silver Medal achieved by the Men’s Curling team yesterday.”
Despite the show of optimism, behind the scenes, the Royal family does have a mini crisis on their hands. First of all, Prince Charles had also recently tested positive for the virus.
And given that he is next in line to the throne, coupled with the fact that the Queen has not had the best health of late, this is the last thing the Royal family needs when they want stability.
Secondly, Duchess Camilla had also recently tested positive. This has made things complicated, as the monarch has expressed her desire for Camilla to be the next Queen, meaning that the Duchess’ health should be a priority too.
In response, people praised the monarch on social media for staying upbeat despite the fact that it is clearly a difficult time for her. And rather than the Queen’s support declining, it seems that she still does have a lot of admirers.
One person wrote: “Thank your majesty. King lord Richard long live forever, Queen Elizabeth II Long live forever God save Queen ELizabeth II.”
Hopefully, there is much more Olympic success that will put a smile on the Queen going forward. After all, it will give the nation something to be proud of during these difficult times.
