Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been blasted for getting themselves involved in the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Social Media Mocks Prince Harry And Meghan Markle For Commenting On The Russia-Ukraine War-‘You Saved Us All. We Owe You One’
The two countries are at war following Russia’s decision to invade, which has resulted in numerous casualties.
While Harry and Meghan may no longer be in the Royal family, they still felt it was important to comment on such a thing, especially in light of their prior track record.
The couple had spoken extensively when the Taliban had recently gained control over Afghanistan, particularly since Prince Harry had served in the British Army during his time there. Much in the same way, the pair wanted everybody to know exactly where they stand with regards to this.
In an official statement on behalf of the couple, a representative said: “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and all of us at Archewell stand with the people of Ukraine against this breach of international and humanitarian law and encourage the global community and its leaders to do the same.”
Their intervention ,however, was met with huge criticism. But rather than focusing on the content of their words, people simply decided to create a series of memes in which they were mocking the pair.
And this was on the basis that they knew the duo’s words were not likely to stop Russian President Vladimir Putin from continuing with his offensive attack.
One person wrote: “’Phew, that’s that sorted then. Putin will immediately recall the military and send them back to their garrisons. Thanks for that Harry and Meg, you saved us all. We owe you one.”
While another person stated: “What a joke. Are they speaking for the UK or American? Or just jumping on for attention. Harry and Meghan have spoken. Putin Russian president is now scared LOL.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have once again found themselves on the wrong side of public opinion. It is probably wise that they keep a low profile when it comes to political matters, as it is clear that people do not view their opinion very highly.
