The WWE isn’t one to admit defeat whether it’s on who they believe fans should cheer for or to keep a talent instead of letting another get them.
In this case, it’s the latter as they reportedly wanted to bring Velveteen Dream back but with a mask and as a non-speaking character after allegations of sending graphic sexual content to a minor forced the WWE to release him.
Velveteen Dream Opens up About the Allegations Against him and How he Wanted to Handle Them
Dream was one of the top young talents in NXT at the time as well as one of the fan favorites, and when the accusations came out the WWE shuttered him in the hopes things would die down, but they eventually had to let him go.
Since then, he’s kept a low profile.

Dishing it out
Dream recently gave an interview on Dishing Drama with Dana Wilkey where he talked about the accusations and how someone got his picture off of Tinder.
Special thanks to Wrestlinginc.com for the following transcripts.
“Well, first of all, I think they got my nude, my personal private picture. I think they got it from someone off the internet. I am trying to get laid like everybody else. I am not going to sit here; I try to represent myself well. Essentially, I sent a d**k pick over Tinder, not just Tinder, but there are plenty of dating apps out there. And again, I am trying to get laid like anybody else. I’ve been with WWE since I was 18, and again, if you know me, I take my job very seriously. There have been plenty of times where I have given up the opportunity to go and hang with friends in nice cities just because I am exhausted. Not just from all the thought that I would put in, but the physical wear and tear. At the end of the day, I want somebody to keep me warm too. I’d like to invite someone to my bed. And if I’ve got to send a picture to do that, that’s what I am doing. But it’s important to understand that I am not sending this to anyone on Reddit. I am not sending this to anyone underage. And I am most certainly not using my verified social media, that is only to represent my WWE character to solicit anything from anyone. Whether it be sex, money, it doesn’t matter.”
He added that he wanted to address it, but the WWE wanted to ignore it. His thoughts are that in this day in age it’s important to explain things without too much detail as fans always want answers.
That’s a mixed bag given the nature of the accusations, but being honest could’ve gone a long way to saving his career.
The WWE did have a backup plan and Dream talked about that as well.
“Just so you know, WWE definitely considered bringing me in with a mask and having me not speak, so I have definitely had some ideas in the back pocket for something like that.”
This would’ve been interesting and we’re curious if it’s still an idea that’s being floated around. What do you think about Dream’s comments? Let us know in the comments below.
