Big E has been on a rollercoaster the last few months as he went from WWE Champion to being back on Smackdown as part of the New Day, and he deserved far better.
Fans loved him as champion, but the booking was bad and he looked like he was struggling to adapt to a new, more serious character that didn’t feel right.
While his joy filled, wise cracking New Day persona was a bit much at times, it was still fun and exciting to watch despite any complaints to his gyrations.
But beyond all of that, he’s paid his dues and was deserving of being a champion and booked as the powerhouse he’s capable of being.

No known reason
While fans have expressed their outrage over how he was treated, and Wade Keller on PWTorch spoke about how people in the WWE locker room feel the same way.
Special tanks to Wrestlingnews.com for the following transcripts.
“I’ve asked around, and all I’ve gotten is people who are really upset, you know, with the rug being pulled out from under him, and I haven’t heard anything about there being an awareness of an issue with him and I think the people I have asked would know.”
He also added that he hasn’t heard anything negative about Big E that would lead to him being dropped as champion. Keller did offer the thought that maybe management (Vince McMahon) were teaching him a lesson for daring to disagree with their choices.
“Big E doesn’t seem like the type of person who would do anything that anyone else would see as a problem but, you know, I could imagine him not knowing his place, according to some management [and maybe they feel] that now they’re gonna teach him a lesson because he dared to push back against something he didn’t like that he was being asked to do, but I haven’t heard of anything concrete as far as that goes.”
“Magnificent human being”
Big E seems to have the support of the locker room with, as Keller reported, one referred to him as a “magnificent human being who doesn’t deserve this treatment” and they’re right from everything we’ve heard and seen about him.
Chances are the speculation that Big E stepped on the wrong toes are true as there were reports that Seth Rollins said Vince was out of touch at a signing, and he lost the Universal Championship to Brock Lesnar a few days later.
It could be true, or it could be something someone made up. There’s no way to really know until people leave or retire and don’t fear any kind of retribution or harm to their careers.
It’s sad to say that, but it’s the type of thing we’ve seen plenty of the last couple of years after wrestlers were released.
Most likely we’ll never know as Big E seems like the type that won’t throw stones, but he also doesn’t seem like he’s willing to let things go unsaid.
Only time will tell if the truth will be known.
