In a short time – they’ve ruled everything on this brand – but aren’t untouchable.
Kay Lee Ray Ensures Fans She Will Get Her Title Shot Against Mandy Rose
They have many people stepping up – and last week Indi Hartwell, Persia Pirotta & Kay Lee Ray got the better of Toxic Attraction. In two weeks, Hartwell & Pirotta get their title shots – but Mandy Rose has someone bigger to worry about. Former NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee is ready to take the gold from her, or break her face with a bat. Maybe both.
KLR would interrupt Toxic Attraction in the ring, but Mandy Rose just wants to talk about herself. She doesn’t care about how long KLR was NXT UK Women’s Champion – because she’s been on ad campaigns across the world. However, none of that shows in-ring skill. KLR held down a continent while Rose was sucking face with Otis.
Rose thinks that all the talent in the world could ever replace her, due to her looks alone. KLR pledges that by the end of the night, she’ll have her match – before running off the whole faction with a bat.
Cora Jade Needs To Prove Herself To Raquel Gonzalez
Cora Jade really wants to enter the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and wants her partner to be Raquel Gonzalez. Gonzalez did it all in NXT over the past year, winning a WarGames match, the NXT Women’s Champion, the 2021 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and is one of half of the first ever NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. Jade doesn’t have that resume, and needs to prove to Gonzalez she’s tough enough – and the only way to find out is to step into the ring with Gonzalez tonight in a singles match.
Jade would rush in early with a shoulder tackle and be swatted aside, and Gonzalez asked if Jade was wasting her time. A lariat dropped Jade, but an up kick and dropkick sent Gonzalez into the corner. Gonzalez easily fought back, and whipped Jade into the corner. The swinging side slam got Gonzalez a two count, the kickout impressing Jade.
A suplex would follow, before Jade was able to hit a jawbreaker. Gonzalez applied a modified Canadian Backbreaker, before driving Jade into the corner. Jade showed some guts and set up a crossbody before being caught. Gonzalez went for the swinging side slam, and Jade blocked into a Cobra Twist.
Jade would be dropped, but was able to get a roll up for a two count. She’d keep up fighting, and got the hurricarana before falling to the one armed powerbomb for the finish. After the bell, a hand was extended – and we have a team for the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
